Thank you for visiting my website. Let me introduce myself. I am Joan Bogle - artist, wife, mother,grandmother & great grandmother!

I have been into the arts for most of my life. Even in early childhood I loved to draw. My interests have been many -- oil, acrylic, pastel,collage and now mixed media. I'm always evolving and changing, which I feel is important as an artist. I have never wanted to get into a rut, just churning paintings out because it's easier that way. I love a challenge.

I have studied art in many classrooms over the years. As well as workshops taught by some noted artists but a lot of my background is being self-taught thru experience and books, traveling and observing. Visiting museums and galleries in places as far flung as Turkey, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Madrid and of course here in the good old U.S.A. I grew up in Sounthern California , but have resided on the Central Coast of California about two miles from the Pacific Ocean for the last 35 years. The beauty here screams to be captured artistically whether it be realistic, abstract, impressionistic-- no matter the subject matter, however the scene moves me that is the direction I take.... and I wish to move the viewer as well.

I have been doing commissioned portraits of pets & people for some time, and have been fortunate to win a number of awards for a variety of my artistic endeavors and sold a lot of my work over the years. Currently I am loving abstraction and the use of mixed media.

My latest direction has been combining my paintings with poetry written by my son Bob Bogle,Jr. due to an inspiration from my oldest son Greg Bogle. This is turning into a family affair.

I have also become very interested in green design and plan to do more of that, I have always used a variety of materials in my mixed media works and now I am concentrating my efforts in that direction even more than previously. Only tomorrow will tell where THIS will go. More ADVENTURE in art I'm sure.
